Kampala Food Festival

The Ideas Factory Ltd, a specialized marketing, events and PR company, in conjunction with Consultant Chef, Food Critic and Writer Kadumukasa Kironde II, is organizing the 2nd Kampala Food Festival, themed 'The Tastes of Uganda @ 50' to celebrate the cultural diversity of Uganda's foods, as part of the Jubilee Independence celebrations, on Saturday 6th October 2012 at the Uganda Museum Grounds.

We are managing the Publicity for the event. We also managed the publicity for the 1st Kampala Food Festival held in Uganda. The event is promoting the rapidly growing catering / hospitality industry in Uganda.

 

Uganda Cricket Association

Uganda Cricket Association held its inaugural Cricket Awards in Uganda in 2011 to award excelling crickets and long serving members. The Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) is the national organization responsible for organization and development of the noble game of cricket in the country affiliated to the National Council of Sports.

We managed the Gala Award Dinner.

 

African Leaders Malaria Alliance

The African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) convened on July 26th 2010 at the African Union summit in Kampala, Uganda to address financing and solutions for overcoming barriers to effective malaria control, including the elimination of taxes and tariffs on malaria control interventions; and the banning of ineffective mono-therapy treatments.

We managed the PR of this event, coordinated both local and international Press.

Young Empowered And Healthy (Y.E.A.H)

Young Empowered And Healthy (Y.E.A.H), a youth initiative by Center for Development Foundation Uganda celebrated 8 years in 2012 and held a showcase event.

Over 250 guests attended the event.

Health Communication Partnership (HCP)

Health Communication Partnership (HCP) hosted a showcase event in 2012 during which they launched the end of project etoolkit in partnership with Ministry of Health.

We managed an event that attracted over 300 guests.

 
Philips

Philips Electronics undertook its third pan-African Cairo to Cape Town road show (from 14th July to 16th August, 2012) to raise awareness on how healthcare and lighting solutions can enhance life in Africa. The road show was in Uganda from 2nd to 3rd July 2012 during which the following activities were carried out:Training of medical personnel at Mulago on the use of ultrasound technology, Media briefing, Round table discussion, Reception dinner with the First Lady as the Guest of Honour.

We managed the entire publicity for the event that stemmed from local to international media.

Uganda Burns and Plastic Surgery Institute

Uganda Burns and Plastic Surgery Institute (UBPSI) in conjunction with Interplast Holland have held ‘Burns Awareness Activities’ in Uganda. We have successfully shot Documentaries, managed Burns Awareness Weeks, Cleft Palate Symposiums among others.

We have also arranged massive radio & television interviews for UBPSI Doctors.

   
Huawei

Huawei held a Media breakfast meeting as an opportunity for Huawei to interact with media from all spheres.

Huawei was able to clarify on negative reports in the media.

   
Ecobank
In partnership with Mystic Media, we’ve managed several PR –related activities for Ecobank to include blood donation drives, promotion handovers and New managing Director announcements.
   
Equity Bank
equity Equity Bank in 2010 embarked on a branch expansion drive and the Corporate branch at Oasis Mall was such one. We managed the official launch event at which over 300 guests attended a cocktail with the Managing Director, Charles Nalyaali giving a few remarks about the expansion drive.
New Day

The largest Christian bookshop in East Africa opened its Ugandan outfit ‘New Day Bookshop’ at Metroplex Mall Naalya, offering a wide range of Christian options: books, music, cards and gifts on December 1st 2011.

The ‘New Day Bookshop’ has built a heritage over the years of being the one stop shop that addressing the literature and entertainment needs of Christians.

   
Oriflame natural Swedish cosmetics

Oriflame natural swedish cosmetics officially opened its doors to over 2,000 direct sales consultants in Uganda with an aim of increasing the penetration of Oriflame products in East Africa in January 2010.

We have since then managed several of their events to include official launch in Uganda, Catalogue launches, Graduation Ceremonies

   
Rotary Club

Due to the high cost of heart surgeries world wide, the Rotary Club of Kampala North and Kajjansi, together with a team of visiting surgeons from Riley Children's Hospital Indiana USA and Rotary Club of Laffayet Indiana USA held a one-week long open heart surgery camp at Mulago Hospital Heart Institute.

As part of this camp, ten (10) children underwent free open-heart surgeries starting November 28th till December 2nd 2011 courtesy of The Capacity Building Missions, sponsored by Rotary, Gift Of Life (GOL) and MOGAS. The cost of such surgeries is over $20,000 (50 million shillings), but The Missions made this possible at a reduced fee of about USD 2500.

   
PZ Cussons

Market leader PZ Cussons East Africa Ltd in partnership with African Queens, a local distributor announced the launch of a new relaxer for the Venus hair care product, Venus Conditioning Crème Super Relaxer with Shea Butter in December 2011. This was in a bid to keep abreast with changing consumer needs of qualitative and detailed care for their hair.

We managed the PR for the launch event

   
United Against Malaria

In a unique tie-up that set a new benchmark in Corporate Social Responsibility, six giants in Uganda joined forces to kick out the deadly killer, Malaria.MTN Uganda, Shoprite, Total and the partnership of Standard Chartered Bank, Coca Cola and Church of Ugandacame together to pledge their continued support for the United Against Malaria campaign, that aimed to draw together government, the football fraternity, non-governmental organizations and the business sector in a push towards eradicating malaria in Africa.

We managed the PR and entire event set up for this activity.

TaxiAD
taxi TaxiAD, an advertising medium was used by Uganda Breweries Limited to further enhance the message of “Do not drink and Drive, Designate a Driver”. Being an advertising medium, we used the tactical PR approach to drive awareness for the brand.
Samsung

Samsung Uganda launched ‘The Samsung Galaxy Note’ onto the Ugandan market on Friday 13th January 2012. The Samsung Galaxy Note is a new type of innovative smartphone which is the ultimate on-the-go device that consolidates core benefits of diverse mobile devices while maintaining smartphone portability .

The exclusive launch event held at Serena Hotel was attended by the cream of society and officiated by the Minister of ICT Hon. NyombiThembo.

Everyone is Me

You most probably know, or have heard of, a woman who has died while giving birth; of a baby who died at child-birth or before their fifth (5th) birthday. You may have thought that these are isolated incidences or may even have put it down to 'that's the way life is', but it does not have to be this way.

Uganda Gas and Merchandise Limited

Uganda Gas and Merchandise Company Ltdin collaboration with Uganda Manufacturers Association hosted a team of 13 investors from various sectors and a government delegation coming from the Royal Kingdom of Thailand between 25th – 27th July 2011 at the Serena Hotel with an aim of attracting and fostering the exploitation of investment opportunities in both Uganda and Thailand.

We managed the PR for this activity attaining both Pre, during and Post publicity.

Uganda Pastrolists Week

The Coalition of Pastoralist Civil Society Organizations (COPACSO) and its membership of both local and international NGOs held the 2011 Uganda Pastoralists Week (UPW) under the theme Pastoralism: Our contribution to National Developmentbetween 8th – 11th November 2011.

This was aimed at showcasing how pastoralist and agro pastoralist tools are viable economic and social resources that can be utilized in dry land areas in Uganda.

   
SMS Empire

To reward Ugandans for their undying support for football and more so the Barclays Premier League, SMS Empire, Uganda's leading sports content provider, launched a promotion dubbed 'Linnya Ebbaati ne 8111'.As part of this promotion, five lucky Ugandans would watch two key matches: 'Manchester United vs Liverpool at Old Trafford on 11th February, 2012' and 'Arsenal vs Chelsea at The Emirates Stadium on 21st April, 2012.'

Cake Festival

On 16th July 2011, the first ever Cake Festival themed "Eat Cake and Place a Smile on a Child's Heart"took place at Emin Pasha Hotel in Kampala.The one day family-friendly festival focused on one main culinary delight – Cake, made by top chefs from all over East Africa.

Over 30 bakers from all over the East African region took part and over 1,000 guests turned up. We managed the entire publicity before, during and after the event.
